TESTIMONIES

“ From the minute we met Tara at a friend's wedding - and then saw that friend's wedding photos and video - we knew we needed her to be our photographer and videographer (she combines both roles seamlessly). She was the only supplier for our wedding that we didn't contact or even look at a single other option for, I was truly that confident that she would fully understand our vision, be a friendly face on the day and deliver a magical result.

Even with those high expectations, I couldn't have been more blown away by her professionalism before, on and after our day. Tara arrived into the bridal party preparation area just as I was starting to go into a full-blown panic about the prospect of 120 people looking at me. I was SO happy at that point to have someone so calming and cheerful around, who also intuitively understood at every moment exactly what I could handle in terms of photography. Before long, as I was starting to relax a bit more, she was sitting among the bridesmaids chatting and it felt as if we had all known each other for years - while she was also capturing beautiful photos and video. While I was putting my dress on upstairs, I overheard a family member ask if we were friends, to which she replied "Well, we are now."

For the whole rest of the day she was just unbelievable, never being obstructive in any way but also popping up every time there was an emotional shot to be taken. Just a few more highlights - her somehow managing to capture brilliant footage from our absolutely chaotic and disorganised Jewish/Irish/Thai dance session; her whisking us away to take pictures so we wouldn't notice a family member was (temporarily) unwell; and the group shots she managed to make fun instead of tedious.

Two final things I have to mention that really make Tara stand out from many wedding photographers. First was her absolute commitment to letting us have the exact day we wanted. Anything we wanted to skip or add in she accepted completely without question - including the kinds of shots we wanted and when - and we at no point felt pushed into doing anything we didn't want to do. Second is her beautiful way with words which it has been so nice to continue to experience after the day - both about our wedding and others - on social media. You get the sense that she has such a full appreciation for the moments and touches that really make a wedding day special, and finds that in each of her couples' days.

I could go on but hopefully that is enough to convey why if you're thinking of hiring Tara - just do it!  . ”

“Tara is incredibly talented and we are so grateful to her for photographing our wedding in June. The photographs are truly amazing. We both cried happy tears when we received our preview. Communication from Tara has been brilliant ever since I reached out to her 2-years before our wedding. We had the opportunity to meet Tara for an engagement shoot and she made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. Tara’s attention to detail is fantastic and we honestly could not have asked for more; she captured absolutely everything from our table set-up to our signage, accessories, favours, everything! Tara was so helpful on our wedding day and had a real calming energy, especially during those last 10-minutes getting into my dress! All of our guests commented on how well she blended in which enabled her to capture so much detail from our day. We had so much fun on our wedding day with Tara and our photos felt very natural. We received our video footage whilst on honeymoon and this was the cherry on top of the cake - wow! We cried more happy tears. Thank you so much for everything, Tara, we only wish we could do it all over again!”

When looking for a photographer during the early stages of planning our wedding, we were drawn to Upon The Heath Photography because of the natural style of Tara's photography. What you don't get from a website is any true idea of what sort of person you are going to be employing to document your big day, and how they are going to work with you on the biggest day of your lives.

Thankfully, we had absolutely nothing to worry about. Tara fitted in so well with the wedding group, interacting with the guests, organising people and chatting to anybody who asked her about the photographs throughout the day. A recurring question which we got on the days following the wedding was how we knew her. The assumption being that she was an existing friend of ours.

From the initial engagement shoot, all the way through the shots which she wanted to collect on the day, she put us both at ease. For somebody who wasn't that comfortable with being photographed her chatty and easy going nature completely took my mind off any trepidation I had. The engagement shoot at Pistyll Rhaedr just became a walk in the woods. The shots in the grass as the light changed on the evening of the wedding just became a chance to have a sit down and catch up about how the day was going.

Her passion and enthusiasm for her art and work are clear to see and summed up perfectly by the fact that she had sent over a number of shots before 8am on the day after our ceremony because she herself had wanted to look through them as soon as she got back from her long day of work at the wedding.

The final shots were perfect, capturing the warmth and colour from the day. It’s so special to have such a fantastic collection of photographs to look back on and remind us of our day.

If you're weighing up different photographers for your event, just save yourself the time of writing out a pros and cons list and book Tara. You're not going to regret it.
